The seat of Czech kings up to the 16th century when Habsburgs moved their residence to the western part of the castle. Its Vladislav Hall was built by Benedikt Ried in 1493-1502 to the order of King Vladislav Jagiello. It served as the Hall of Homage of the Czech Kings, lately was used for social events and nowadays the Vladislav Hall is the place of elections of Czech presidents.
